Connecting

One of my earlier posts today talked about public speaking, a topic scarier than death for many.  It amazes me how staff-even in the people business such as youth development-are afraid of meeting new people. With the upcoming summit, it is extra important to be able to connect with other service providers.

  • Escape from Cubicle Nation has a networking tip from the playground.
  • Carol Bentley requires us to focus our thinking with a post (and a downloadable template) on Elevator Speeches (thanks to Political Calculations).  It is geared a little more towards sales, but can easily be adapted for those of us looking for volunteers, partners or donors.
