Engage Your Audience
We are hosting a Gang Prevention summit later this month and I’ve been tracking a lot of tips on public speaking and presentations. The work we do is rewarding, dramatic and interesting. Too bad we’ve all sat through too many presentations that put us to sleep.
Here’s a hilarious video of How Not to Do PowerPoint that I found over at I am Bored.
I really liked the post by Pivotal Public Speaking on converting a seminar to a keynote. I’ve done a lot of trainings, but never been in the role of the star. One of our staff has to do that later this month.
On the same topic, great public speaking isn’t about the speech, it’s about connecting with the audience, thanks to Keith Ferrazzi over at Never Eat Alone. He’s got a great interview about Relationship Based Public Speaking.
Of course, Seth Godin has some great pointers too. He is one of the best marketing communicators out there. He was the first work related blog I became addicted too. Thanks Seth!
Lifehacker had some cool tools to make your presentation stand out.
