Craig Fitzgerald-Hall of Famer
A former Club member, Craig Fitzgerald was inducted into BGCA’s Hall of Fame this year. It was an amazing night and very cool to see someone I knew personally inducted along with professional athletics and other celebrities. Craig truly has a great spirit. He lost the much of the use of his right hand. But rather than feel sorry for himself, he saw how hard others at the Walter Reed Hospital had it and decided to do something about it. He is an amazing man.
Craig Fitzgerald joined the Boys Club of Nashua in 1985, taking part in sports and leadership programs. He enlisted in the Air Force after high school in 1995, serving first as a survival training instructor, then a pararescuer. In 2003, he was leading a rescue reconnaissance mission in Afghanistan when insurgents attacked. Severely wounded, Craig underwent 11 surgeries and was medically retired in 2004. Wanting to give back to other injured veterans, he and a friend hiked the 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail in just four months in 2006, raising more than $150,000 on behalf of severely disabled veterans and their families.

I had the opportunity to listen to Craig speak at a conference yesterday, and he is a phenomenal speaker and a natural born leader! His experiences touched everyone in the room and I know that I left with a much different outlook on life. I wish him the very best in his life, and with his determination and attitude, he can’t go wrong!
Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback Cheryl. It really is humbling to listen to Craig.
